Large Environmental Justice Case Results in Industries Cleaning Up

1989 – In what may have been the largest environmental justice case brought in the Central Valley for its time, an African-American and Hispanic community prevailed against various industries creating horrible odors in their west Fresno community. The industries substantially upgraded their facilities and paid a monetary settlement to the plaintiffs.
